1. Product Overview #
RG-N8000-R series routers are a new generation of all-scenario intelligent core routers launched by Ruijie Networks, including models RG-N8018-R and RG-N8010-R. The RG-N8000-R series routers adopt an advanced orthogonal CLOS zero-backplane architecture, separating the control plane from the forwarding plane. They support high-density 10GE, 40GE, and 100GE interfaces, with flexible scalability in single slots to meet different network location needs. They also feature the next-generation DSA NPU network chip, supporting the open-source P4 programming language, making network capabilities more open and business implementations faster and more flexible.
The RG-N8000-R series routers are equipped with Ruijie Networks’ self-owned RGOS 12.X network operating system, which is highly integrated with the RG-N8000-R series in areas such as multi-core CPU support, distributed computing, modular design, high availability architecture, virtualization, and openness. The RG-N8000-R series routers are mainly used in industries such as government, finance, electricity, transportation, education, and telecommunications, covering scenarios including enterprise WAN core nodes, large enterprise access nodes, campus interconnection and aggregation nodes, and various large IDC network exit nodes.

The chassis features independent switching network boards, while the main control board, switching network board, and line card are separated to achieve three-plane separation of management, control, and data.

The RG-N8000-R series core routers adopt advanced cooling and energy-saving systems, including advanced air duct designs, advanced heat dissipation designs, intelligent fan designs, and modular power supply designs. These features enable automatic temperature sensing and adjustment, significantly improving power utilization. Additionally, the use of new VC heat sinks and phase change material thermal pads provides enhanced heat dissipation capabilities, combined with dynamic frequency modulation and intelligent fan speed control technologies to greatly reduce device power consumption.
High-Performance Multi-Service #
The RG-N8000-R series core routers have robust routing capabilities, supporting large routing tables. They provide technologies like IPv6, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, EVPN, HQoS, multicast, and support clear/encrypted authentication, ensuring rapid convergence in complex environments while maintaining line-speed performance without impact during complex service stacking.
SRv6-based Intelligent Connectivity #
The RG-N8000-R series core routers support SRv6 segment routing technologies, including support for NETCONF, Ti-LFA, SRv6-BE, cross-domain E2E, PCEP interactions, BGP for SRv6 Policy, G-SRv6, SRv6 OAM, and more. With comprehensive SRv6 support, protocol simplification is achieved, enabling intelligent path selection based on delay, bandwidth, and ensuring SLA.
