The RG-S6580 series switch is a new generation high-performance, high-density switch introduced by Ruijie Networks to meet the development trends of AI and other applications. It provides high-density 200GE/100GE port access. The RG-S6580 series switch, in conjunction with the RG-S6980-64QC switch, meets the design requirements of a Spine-Leaf all-layer network architecture.
The RG-S6580 series switch currently includes the following models:
- RG-S6580-48CQ8QC: Supports 48 100G DSFP ports + 8 400G QSFP-DD ports.
- RG-S6580-24DC8QC: Supports 24 200G QSFP56 ports + 8 400G QSFP-DD ports.

Building Next-Generation Data Center Networks #
The rapid development of AI/machine learning applications drives the evolution of next-generation data center networks towards 100G/400G. The RG-S6580 series switches can provide up to 48 100G/24 200G ports and 8 400G ports in a 1U height, better meeting the evolution requirements of next-generation data center networks.
Building High-Performance, Low-Latency Data Center Networks #
When paired with the RG-S6980-64QC switch and leveraging technologies like PFC/ECN and MMU tuning, the RG-S6580 series can create an end-to-end, lossless, low-latency RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) network foundation, fulfilling the network deployment requirements for AI/machine learning, high-performance computing, and big data in distributed storage.
Telecom-Level Reliability Protection #
The RG-S6580 series supports 1+1 power redundancy and 5+1 fan redundancy. All power and fan modules can be hot-swapped without affecting normal operation. The switch also supports power and fan fault detection and alarms, automatically adjusting fan speeds based on temperature changes. It incorporates device-level and link-level reliability protections, including overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating protection.
IPv4/IPv6 Dual-Stack Protocol Multi-layer Switching #
The RG-S6580 series supports hardware-based IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack multi-layer wire-speed switching, handling IPv4 and IPv6 protocol messages separately. It supports various tunnel technologies and offers flexible communication solutions based on IPv6 network needs.
Comprehensive Management Features #
The switch offers various management interfaces, including Console, MGMT port, and USB port. It supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and general network management platforms, facilitating easy management and secure operations through encryption methods like SSH2.0 and SSL.
