CloudEngine 9800 series switches are high-performance 100G Ethernet switches designed for data center networks, featuring high-density 100 GE ports and low latency. Compatible with a range of other CloudEngine series switches (CE 16800, 12800, 8800, 6800, and 5800), the CloudEngine 9800 series can be used to build an elastic, virtualized, high-quality fabric that meets the demanding requirements of cloud-computing data centers. Downlink Service interface The device does not have fixed ports and provides four card slots. Currently, the device supports the following cards:
CE98-D32CQ-A: 32 x 100GE QSFP28
1. Each 100GE QSFP28 port can be configured to work at 40 Gbit/s.
2. 100GE and 40GE 1/3/5 m copper cables are supported, but auto-negotiation of copper cables is not supported. 100GE and 40GE copper cables can only be used on M-LAG peer-link ports.
3. In versions earlier than V200R023C00, a 100GE QSFP28 port cannot be split. In V200R023C00 and later versions, a 100GE QSFP28 port can be split into 4 x 25GE and 4 x 10GE ports. Ports 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, and 29 on each card can be split into 4 x 25GE ports and 4 x 10GE ports. After the split, the three ports after each of the following ports are deleted: 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, and 29. (For example, if port 1 is split, ports 2, 3, and 4 are deleted.) Only ports with optical modules can be split, and ports with copper cables cannot be split. If a 100GE port is split into 4 x 25GE ports, the rate of the ports is 25 Gbit/s after the split and cannot be auto-negotiated to 10 Gbit/s, and the port mode 10g and port mode ge commands cannot be configured. If a 40GE port is split, the rate of the ports is 10 Gbit/s after the split.
CE98-D8DQ: 8 x 400GE QSFP-DD
In V200R021C00, such ports can only work at 400 Gbit/s, cannot be used as 200GE, 100GE, or 40GE ports, and cannot be split (for example, 4 x 100GE/2 x 200GE/2 x 100GE/2 x 40GE/8 x 50GE/8 x 25GE/8 x 10GE/4 x 50GE/4 x 25GE/4 x 10GE ports). Auto-negotiation of 400GE copper cables is not supported and such cables can be used only for peer-link. In V200R021C10 and later versions, 400GE ports can be dynamically split into 2 x 200GE ports through 2 x 200GE AOCs and 2.5 m copper cables. By default, negotiation is disabled and cannot be enabled for copper cables. If an unsupported module is inserted into such a port, the system displays a message indicating a medium mismatch. In V200R023C00 and later versions, 400GE ports can be dynamically split into 2 x 200GE ports by using 400G-SR8 optical modules.
In V200R023C10 and later versions, the CE9860-4C-EI-A supports the CE98-D32CQ-F and CE98-D8DQ-F cards.
CE98-D32CQ-F: 32 x 100GE QSFP28
1. Each 100GE QSFP28 port can be configured to work at 40 Gbit/s.

1. Such ports can only work at the rate of 400 Gbit/s and cannot be configured as 200GE/100GE/40GE ports. Auto-negotiation of 400GE copper cables is not supported and such cables can be used only for peer-link.
2. A 400GE port can be dynamically split into 2 x 200GE ports through 2 x 200GE AOCs and 2.5 m copper cables but cannot be split into 4 x 100GE, 2 x 100GE, 2 x 40GE, 8 x 50GE, 8 x 25GE, 8 x 10GE, 4 x 50GE, 4 x 25GE, or 4 x 10GE ports. By default, negotiation is disabled and cannot be enabled for copper cables. If an unsupported module is inserted into such a port, the system displays a message indicating a medium mismatch. 400G-SR8 optical modules can be used to dynamically split a 400GE port into 2 x 200GE ports.
