Overview
The HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C (MDS 9148V) is a next-generation, 48-port, 64Gbps Fibre Channel switch that delivers high-speed Fibre Channel connectivity from the server rack to the SAN core. It supports small, medium, and large enterprises that are rapidly deploying cloud-class applications, providing greater bandwidth, scale, and consolidation benefits. The switch allows for a seamless transition to Fibre Channel Non-Volatile Memory Express (FC-NVMe) workloads wherever available, without the need for any hardware upgrades in the SAN. The HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C offers 48 ports that can be fully populated or partially populated with 32Gb or 64Gb transceivers. For maximum flexibility, the HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C is scalable from 24 to 48 ports.
The HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C can be configured, managed, monitored, and troubleshooted using the Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC), formerly known as Data Centre Network Manager (DCNM), which now manages the entire Cisco Data Centre product suite. It is powered by the C-Series MDS 9000 NX-OS software, which includes storage networking features and functionality, and works in conjunction with the C-Series SN8700C (MDS 9700) family of multilayer guides, the C-Series SN6010C (MDS 9148S) multilayer fabric switch, the C-Series SN6610C (MDS 9132T), the C-Series SN6620C (MDS 9148T) multilayer fabric switch, C-Series SN6630C (MDS 9396T) multilayer fabric switch, C-Series SN6710C (MDS 9124V) multilayer fabric switch, and C-Series SN6640C (MDS 9220i) multiservice fabric switch are compatible, providing transparent end-to-end service delivery in core edge deployments.
HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C
The HPE Storage Fibre Channel Switch C-Series SN6720C is offered in either 32Gb or 64Gb partially or fully populated options. The SN6720C switch comes in five preconfigured models; 24 ports active with 0 SFPs bundled, 24-ports with 32Gb SFPs bundled, 24-ports with 64Gb SFPs bundled, 48-ports with 32Gb SFPs bundled, or 48-ports with 64Gb SFPs bundled. The SN6720C model can grow by 8 ports, up to 48 ports by installing the 8-port FC Upgrade License (additional SFPs required).
